Some photos generated before mid-July 2026 could be chosen for a download with the visible AI label, but the label was never added. The download ended without it, and trying again changed nothing.
These photos now get the label like any other, and the signed copy records that we added it. Where we have no record of which AI tool produced an older photo, the signature states that the photo was generated by AI without naming a tool, rather than showing an empty name.
Photos you uploaded that declare they were made with AI. A photo you uploaded whose own file states, in a way that can be verified, that it was made with AI could also be offered the label without receiving it. It now receives it. The signed copy records only that we added the label. The statement that the photo was made with AI remains your file's own, and it can still be read from it.
Nothing changes about which photos are offered the label, what it says or how it looks.
