How to read this result
Every manifest is reported with two separate findings, because they answer different questions. An intact binding means the content of the file still matches what was signed. A recognised issuer means the certificate behind that signature appears on the public C2PA trust list. A file can have one without the other.
Whether a certificate counts as trusted depends on the list the verifier was configured with, not on the file itself. The same file can read as trusted in one tool and unrecognised in another, without a single byte changing. That is why this result names the trust list and the verifier version it used.
A file with no marking at all is the most common case, and it is not a verdict about the image. Markings are routinely removed as images pass through marketplaces, messaging apps and social platforms.
