A photo you upload is prepared before anything can be generated from it. That takes a short while, and it happens in the background, so there was nothing on the screen telling you to wait.
Ordering a packshot during that window failed immediately. The tile appeared and died in the same second, the credits came back, and the message said the product had no photo — which was not true: the photo was there, it simply was not ready yet. The only way through was to wait an unknown length of time and order again.
The order now waits for the photo. It is accepted, the tile shows that it is waiting, and generation starts by itself as soon as the photo is ready. For as long as the wait lasts, nothing is left for you to remember and nothing has to be ordered twice. While it waits, the tile reads The product photo is still being prepared — this will start on its own…, and if the preparation runs long, Preparing the product photo is taking longer than usual. It will still start on its own once the photo is ready.
You are told before you order, not after. When a photo you have picked is still being prepared, the ordering window now says so: This photo is still being prepared — generation will start on its own once it is ready. Picking several at once names how many: 2 of 5 selected photos are still being prepared — generation will start on its own once they are ready. It is a notice rather than a barrier — the button stays available and the order goes through.
Waiting is not endless, and giving up is said plainly. If the photo is still not ready after the wait is exhausted, the generation ends with The photo was not ready in time, and no credits are charged for it.
On a tile that failed, Try again is no longer covered. The button that archives a failed packshot was drawn on top of the one that retries it, on a tile small enough for the two to land on each other — so reaching for a retry could archive the record in one click instead. The actions are now laid out side by side, and archiving asks for confirmation first. The same fix applies to video tiles.
